Judge orders Microsoft to stop selling Word

Microsoft took a legal hit yesterday, when a judge ordered the company to stop selling Word, one of its top products, because of patent infringement. Specifically, the company has been prohibited from "selling or importing to the United States any Microsoft Word products that have the capability of opening .XML, .DOCX, or DOCM files (XML files) containing custom XML," according to the patent holder, I4i. How likely is it that the ubiquitous word-processing software will disappear from shelves anytime soon? Read our full story to find out.
