Sony offers on its Web site an accidental damage from handling warranty, a lil different from a regular extended one. Of course, stores also offer warranties...It's not the price I'm concerned about--just if I should buy one. I'm not accident prone, but around five or so years ago, I stuck my finger through the shutter curtain of my Maxxum 7xi, had no warranty, and it wasn't worth repairing. Ended up buying the Maxxum 7 after that.
