- National Geographic, Airbus, and ePals have partnered to raise awareness of biodiversity worldwide, especially among young people. A major component of this effort is a summer photo contest for students age 6-16, called "See the Bigger Picture."

- I received my first OEM Convertible Classmate PCs late last week from CTL Corporation. My previous Classmates had been various demo units supplied by Intel (with one still going strong running Ubuntu and the Intel Linux software stack); these 6 "2go PCs" were standard fare and are being used in pilots around the district.

- If you are running Windows PCs somewhere on your campus, then you are probably also running antivirus. Flame-baiting discussions of Windows security aside, it's simply a necessity.
