Long-time Microsoft evangelist retires
Mary Jo Foley: Microsoft veteran Sanjay Parthasarathy is leaving the company after 19 years. During the most recent round of Microsoft layoffs, two of Parthasarathy's Startup Accelerator projects, the .Net Micro Framework and the ResponsePoint small-business phone system, were cut back significantly.

New Microsoft eXtreme Computing group takes aim at exascale calculations

European regulators, Opera weigh in on Microsoft's Windows 7 E plan
Mary Jo Foley: At the end of the day Microsoft acknowledged its plan to ship a browser-less version of Windows 7 in the European Union to attempt to appease antitrust regulators, those same regulators and Opera Software weighed in on Redmond's plan.
