Security stalwart McAfee jumps into the family protection game with a new home-oriented protection program called McAfee Family Protection.

Online scammers are finding out what's popular on Google and Twitter and seeding tweets and search results with links to sites that have malware, PandaLabs says.

New scam tries to pry account and e-mail server information out of Microsoft Outlook users.

Somewhere around 40,000 Web sites have apparently been infected with code that redirects visitors to sites hosting malware, according to a security firm.
Apple updates iTunes to get it ready for the anticipated iPhone firmware upgrade to version 3.0. The company also updates its QuickTime video player.
