I have a confession...   I eat a bagel for breakfast every morning.   And when I say that out loud, I can already hear some of you thinking:   "Wait... a bagel? Isn't that super high in calories and carbs? How are you eating that and still staying lean?"   But here's the thing...   I'm not afraid of that bagel because I know exactly what's in it—and I've accounted for it in my macros.   Most women I talk to are terrified of foods like bagels, pasta, rice, bread... basically anything that tastes good.   They've been told for years that carbs are the enemy. That high-calorie foods will make you gain weight. That you need to eat "clean" 24/7 if you want to see results.   So they avoid the foods they actually enjoy and white-knuckle their way through another restrictive diet.   But here's what they're missing:   It's not about the bagel. It's about what else you're eating with it—and throughout the rest of your day.   When I eat my bagel in the morning, I'm also having it with eggs (protein) and sometimes a little avocado (healthy fats).   And because I track my macros, I know: How much protein I'm getting How many carbs I can have Where my fats are coming from   So that bagel? It fits perfectly into my day.   I'm not over on carbs. I'm not under on protein. I'm not guessing or restricting or feeling guilty.   I'm just... eating. And fueling my body the right way.   This is the freedom that comes with understanding macros.   You stop being afraid of food. You stop labeling things as "good" or "bad." You stop thinking you have to be perfect.   Instead, you learn how to make food work FOR you—not against you.   You can have the bagel. The pasta. The rice. The foods you actually enjoy.   You just need to understand how they fit into your bigger picture.   That's what tracking macros teaches you. It's not about restriction.
