Apple music/iPod event rumored for September
Jason D. O'Grady: MediaMemo citing “music industry sources” reports that Apple is planning a keynote event for the week of September 7th. Apple has held similar events in September for the past four years, so it isn’t much of a surprise. MacRumors breaks it down: 2008: Apple held a “Let’s Rock” event to introduce iTunes 8 and new iPod touch, [...]

Conversion has never been so much fun
David Morgenstern: Some software programs have a certain “wow” factor. They are so much fun and so stylish that they can showcase the hardware platform. Who would think that an unit conversion utility could sell the iPhone/iPod Touch? Tapbots’ Convertbot is from the collaboration of interface designer Mark Jardine and programmer Paul Haddad. They call their applications “utility [...]

The MiFi is billed as an “intelligent Mobile Hotspot” and is basically a 3G card and a WiFi access point/base station rolled into [...]

AT&T testing iPhone MMS in Washington (Updated 4x)
Jason D. O'Grady: While on vacation last week I received an MMS on my iPhone (running OS 3.1 build 7C116a) while passing through Forks, Washington. I received the message from a user on Verizon Wireless on the east coast. Normally this would be a non-story, except for the fact that iPhones in the U.S. don’t support MMS because AT&T [...]

Apple tablet (a.k.a. iPad) shots/video look F-A-K-E
Jason D. O'Grady: Hot on the heels of my post last night about the fake iTunes 9 screenshots comes this beauty. MacRumors forums user Gonewiththewind posted two photos which he purports to be of the fabled Apple tablet (a.k.a. iPad). They’re obviously fake, I mean, look at that shady drop shadow around the top (?) of the “Wallpaper” widget. [...]

14 reasons why the iTunes 9 screenshots are F-A-K-E
Jason D. O'Grady: After looking at the purportedly “leaked screenshots” of iTunes 9 posted yesterday on Boy Genius Report something about them bothered me. Then it hit me, it was the second shot, which contained an item in the left pane called “Social” — it was simply a playlist called “Social.” You can do that in iTunes now by [...]

Review: Mophie Juice Pack for iPhone 3GS
Jason D. O'Grady: A guest blog post by Vic Orly: The iPhone 3GS is awesome except for one thing: its battery life, or lack thereof. My battery experience had been awful. Recently, I was on a flight from Chicago O’Hare to San Diego with my new 32GB iPhone 3GS in airplane mode. When I boarded the flight, my battery charge [...]
