Dear Upload.com Publisher, Please note that the September 2009 Pay-Per-Download bidding window will close on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 12:00 PM PST. No bids will be accepted after this deadline. For those of you, who are not familiar the program, Pay-Per-Download (PPD) is a performance-based program that allows you to have full control of your spending while increasing your downloads. Not only do you have the opportunity to get top-shelf placement within your category with 10 additional keywords, your product gets rotated throughout different categories on CNET Download.com, resulting in major product exposure and increased downloads. You only pay for each certified-unique download, so there is virtually no risk involved, which is why so many of our publishers take advantage of the PPD program. If you are interested in trying it out, please log into your Upload Manager to submit your bid(s) if you have not done so already. When determining what to bid, please consider the following advice: | Realize that your cost-per-download (CPD) is the most important factor taken into consideration for the final rankings, but not the only one. Spend cap and projected download count also are important. | | If your product is new to the site or has a low download count, you may have to offer a higher CPD just to get into the program. But, over time, you should begin to see the cost benefits, lower your bid, and still win. | | None of your unused spend cap rolls over to the next month, but the size of your spend cap is used as a tiebreaker. The size of your CPD and how it adjusts your effective yield (monthly download counts x CPD) are the most important factors. | | Monitor your bid status by requesting e-mail updates when placing your bid(s). If you are outbid, submit a newer, higher bid at that time. We accept the last bid we receive, time-stamped upon submission. | | The majority of bids in the PPD program are placed within the last 48 hours. | | Even a top-ranked product can get significantly more downloads by raising its CPD. We award out-of-category promotional rotations to products with the highest yields. The higher the CPD relative to all PPD products, the more visibility your product may receive. | Thank you, and good luck bidding! - CNET Partner Services |
