Did Jobs and Apple lie about reason for departure?
Corporations must make "material disclosures" to shareholders, information that, if known, would induce a shareholder to sell or buy shares. If you don't make such disclosures, or if you omit material information, you're probably in hot water with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
US, S. Korean websites under attack; N. Korea blamed
So it's cyberwar. In a July 4 attack that is believed to come from North Korea or its sympathizers, the websites of a number of U.S. and South Korean government agencies were knocked out and experienced continuing problems since the holiday, the Associated Press is reporting today.
SoundExchange, webcasters settle at last
Let the music play. Finally, after two a half years, we have an agreement on webcasting royalties that doesn't doom sites like Pandora to the ashheap. The LA Times reports that SoundExchange and webcasters have agreed to a structure that doesn't require a per-song royalty payment.
